We are the Entrepreneurship Cell of Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru — building a space where students can explore, experiment and create.
Since 2021, we have been shaping a culture of entrepreneurship through competitions, industry engagement and hands-on opportunities that help ideas grow beyond classrooms.
Our focus is to equip students with the mindset, network and real-world exposure needed to build ventures that matter.

Startup Mela is a two-day entrepreneurship event organised by E-Cell SMVIT.
It brings together student builders, investors and industry mentors for competitions, startup exhibitions, speaker sessions and panel discussions.

Everything you need to know before participating
Can I participate in more than one competition?
−Yes, a team can register for one competition per day. Within two days, you can participate in two different competitions.
Do I need a startup to attend?
+No. The competitions are open to anyone. You do not need a startup to register or participate.
What happens if a team member drops out before the event?
+You can still participate as long as your team has at least 3 members. Contact us if you need to make changes after registration.
Do all participants get certificates?
+Yes. All registered participants receive E-certificates of participation.
How many members can be in a team?
+Each team must have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 members. Solo registrations are not allowed.
What is the entry fee?
+₹750 for one-day pass. ₹1000 for two-day pass.
Where is the event?
+Startup Mela is a fully offline event held at Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology.
What do winners get?
+Each competition has its own prize pool. Visit individual competition pages for exact prize details.
Can students from other colleges participate?
+Yes. Startup Mela is open to students from all colleges, not just SMVIT.
